January 26
4:30 p.m. - A walk-in from Homestead Park reported fraudulent activity with his bank account. A report was completed and the party was also advised of identify theft and better ways to safeguard his paperwork.

January 27
A party had their wallet stolen from Panera Bread. The stolen credit cards were used at a area store. The matter is under investigation.

A Greenwood Avenue resident reported that they were the victim of a scam. The resident agreed to provide a service to a resident of Canada for a set price. When the check came as payment it was for $1,200 too much. The sender asked for the money to be sent to Mexico via Moneygram. The resident agreed to this and sent the money. They later discovered that the check bounced and when she called Moneygram they said the money had already been picked up and there was nothing they could do. This matter is under investigation.
January 28
3:30 p.m. - A Webster Street resident walked into the police station to report that someone had tried to use her Kohl's credit card. She stated that she got an alert via email that her Kohl account email had been changed.
