Needham Police Log: Shoplifting, Larceny, and More

June 22
12:00 p.m. - An officer responded to Continental Wingate on Kendrick Street for a report a past larceny. The reporting party stated the company had been defrauded by a party posing as the CEO. Two other transactions were attempted but they were stopped by the business’ bank. The matter is under investigation.

9:20 p.m. - Officers responded to 1360 Great Plain Ave. for a disturbance. A 31-year-old Needham man was intoxicated and taken to the station under protective custody.

June 24
11:00 a.m. - An officer responded to Baker's Best Catering on Gould St. for a past hit and run in the parking lot. A witness took a photo of the suspect’s vehicle. The operator, a 31-year-old male from Three Rivers, Mass., will be summoned to Dedham District Court for leaving the scene of a property damage crash.
A Hillside Ave resident reported that someone had stolen her identity and used it to make charges on her debit card. She notified her bank and they canceled the card.
3:30 p.m. - An officer responded to Trader Joe's on Highland Avenue for a report of shoplifting in progress. The suspect, Tatiana Batrina, 63, of Wilmington, was arrested for shoplifting over $100.
