Needham Police Log: Stolen Bike, Suspicious Vehicle, and More

May 30
An Edgewater Drive resident reported that someone had used her identity to attempt to open a Wal-Mart credit card. She told Wal-Mart that she did not apply for the card and they cancelled the application.

10:20 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle on Highland Avenue at the Route 128 interchange. A query of the plate returned with a denied mass license. The operator, a 26-year-old Brighton man, will be summoned to court for unlicensed operation.
11:30 a.m. - A vehicle was stopped for speeding on West Street. A query revealed the operator, a 34-year-old female from Medford, was driving unlicensed. She will be summoned to Dedham District Court for unlicensed operation and speeding. A licensed operator came to the scene to pick up the operator and the vehicle.

June 1
4:33 p.m. - An officer responded to the Sheraton Hotel for a report of a stolen registration sticker off of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that he believes someone stole the registration sticker off the back of his moped while he was working that day. The reporting party was advised to go to the RMV to get a new registration sticker.
June 2
2:00 p.m. - A resident came into the police station to report that sometime in the last two years, his bicycle was stolen from a locked shed at Charles Court East. He described the bike as a Green Montague Paratrooper foldable mountain bike. He said that he noticed the bike was missing when he moved and went to get the bike and it was gone.
9:30 p.m. - An officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the Highland Avenue parking lot of the Needham Public Library with a person asleep in the rear seat of the vehicle. The person, a Medford woman, had a cancelled license, and she was informed that she cannot drive the vehicle away due to her license status. The vehicle was towed away and the woman stated she was going to take the train into Boston for the night.
10:00 p.m. - An officer responded to the Coca-Cola company for the report of a lost or stolen wallet. The victim explained that he was a cross country truck driver and was preparing to pick up a delivery. He exited his truck in the shipping and receiving yard and when he got back in he noticed his wallet was missing from the passenger seat.
