Needham Police Log Stolen Mailboxes, Vandalism, Warrant Arrest, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

November 10

12:30 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Great Plain Avenue address on report of a suspicious noise at this location. The reporting party heard what sounded like their bulkhead doors possibly being opened. A check of the doors revealed the doors to be locked and the incident appears to be unfounded.

November 11

12:00 p.m. - An officer responded to a McCulloch Street residence to speak with a resident about a missing mailbox. Sometime after midnight an unknown party removed the mailbox from the front of the house.

6:00 p.m. - An officer responded to a Marsh Road residence for a report of a stolen package. The matter under investigation.

November 13

7:00 p.m. - A Brewster Road resident came to the police station to report that her mother's checking account had been compromised by an unknown person. Here bank's fraud department and credit reporting agencies were notified.

November 14

11:15 a.m. - A Needham High School student had her jacket stolen from her locker.
10:00 a.m. - An officer received a report that someone had written graffiti on the wall of the boys bathroom in the 100's section of Needham High School. The graffiti appears to be written with a light black pen. It is unknown when or who caused the damage. The assistant principal was made aware of the incident.
11:50 a.m. - A resident on Overlook Road notified the Needham Police that someone had attempted to open two credit cards using his identity. The attempts were not successful.
12:30 p.m. - A Dedham resident told police that his car was hit while it was parked on School Street on Nov. 10 around noon.

November 14

1:30 p.m. - A Beech Street resident reported that someone had cashed a check belonging to her without her authorization. Needham detectives are following up.

2:30 p.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle in the area of 1257 Highland Ave. for defective equipment. After further investigation it was determined that the operator was operating a motor vehicle without being issued a license. The operator, Daniel Torres, 21, of Milford, was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation and operating a motor vehicle with no inspection sticker. After further investigation it was also determined that Torres had an active warrant out of Milford District Court.
