Needham Police Log: Stolen Sign, Tree Branch Strikes Bus
The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

December 12
9:30 a.m. - An officer took a report of possible larceny at a Chestnut Street business. The victim reported three men came into the store asking questions about the business. The victim and another employee came into police station to report the incident. Both employees stated that the men acted suspiciously and stayed for approximately 15 minutes. The victim went to retrieve her wallet from her purse at the end of her shift and noticed it was missing. The items taken are valued at under $200. The matter is under investigation.

11:15 a.m. - An officer responded to town property on Highland Avenue regarding past incidents of possible fraud. A town employee stated they believe that a local builder has been falsifying pest inspection reports with the Town of Needham. The matter is under investigation.

9:00 a.m. - An Officer stopped a vehicle on Webster Street near Mercer Road and determined that the operator had attached an improper registration plate to his vehicle. The operator, a 54-year-old West Bridgewater male, was issued a citation for attaching plates to conceal identification.
11:00 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Harris Avenue near Pollard Middle School. The operator, a 28-year-old mans from Danvers, had a suspended license. The operator will be summoned to court for operating with a suspended license and speeding.
December 15
2:40 p.m. - Officer responded to the area of South and Crestview for a report of a branch that had struck the windshield of a school bus during a windstorm. All parties on board were transferred to a new bus for transport home.
December 16
5:00 p.m. - Dispatch received a call reporting a male party putting a knocked down street sign at Grosvenor and Broadmeadow into his pickup truck and driving away. He provided a license plate number which came back to a 23-year-old resident. Units responded to the residence and after speaking with him, the driver showed them where he hide the sign. The sign was retrieved and brought back to the police station. The operator will be summoned to court for larceny over $250.
