Needham Police Log: Road Rage Punch, Vandalism and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

September 5

7:00 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to Oakland Avenue for a report of past vandalism. The victim reported that unknown person vandalized the retractable child safety gate installed at the end of the driveway.

8:30 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to the Residence Inn for a report of past fraud. The reporting party stated that someone had used his identity to make charges at the Courtyard Marriott in Danvers. The party was advised to monitor their credit. The hotel believes that it was possibly an error on their end.

10:20 p.m. - An officer observed a vehicle travelling on Greendale Avenue that had defective equipment. After initiating a motor vehicle stop, police discovered that the operator, a 33-year-old Medford man, had a suspended license. He will be summoned to Dedham District Court for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and having defective equipment.

September 7

12:00 a.m. - An officer observed a male party stumbling and almost falling in front of Sudbury Farms on Highland Avenue. Upon subsequent investigation, the 24-year-old Natick man was placed into protective custody and transported to the station for processing.

9:45 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle on 3rd Avenue. After a discussion with the operator, a 26-year-old Boston man, will be charged and cited for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration and operating a motor vehicle with no insurance. A citation was handed to the operator of the motor vehicle and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

1:30 p.m. - An officer took a walk-in report of a past road rage incident in the area of Gould Street. The reporting party, a 36-year-old Walpole resident, stated that she was punched after a road rage incident involving a 29 year old Needham resident. Neither party wished to press charges and were advised to go to Dedham District Court if they wished to do so.
