Needham Police Log: Unregistered Sex Offender Reported, Vandalism, and More

December 23

1:00 a.m. - An officer located a vehicle parked in a parking lot on South Street. The occupants had recently smoked marijuana. The operator was not impaired and the parties were sent on their way after being informed of the new marijuana laws.

December 24

An officer was dispatched to a Highland Court address for a report of a past incident of vandalism. Two entrance signs were damaged or removed from the property sometime during the evening of Dec. 23.

A Maple Street resident reported that a group of young men had attempted to remove his license plate from his vehicle earlier this morning. He went on to say that he had video surveillance of the incident and that it appears that three young men walking down the street at approximately 2:30 a.m. were responsible for the damage. The license plate was never actually removed and he was able to restore it to its original condition. I will attempt to locate addition surveillance video in the area.

December 26

3:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Linden Street residence for a report of an unregistered sex offender living at that address. The matter is under investigation.
