Needham Police Log: Vehicle Damage, OUI, And More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

February 1

8:30 a.m. - An officer responded to Evelyn Road for a report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash. The witness stated that a green Subaru slid on the ice and crashed into a parked car, causing damage. The Subaru left the scene and police were unable to locate the suspect's vehicle.

4:00 p.m. - Damage to a vehicle parked at Beth Israel Deaconess on Chestnut Street was reported. The incident currently under investigation.

February 3

12:15 p.m. - An officer responded to a Highland Avenue business for a report of larceny. Two employees of the business stated some money was missing from a deposit.

4:15 p.m. - Officers responded to the area of Highland Avenue by West Street for a report of a traffic light struck by a tractor trailer. Officers observed one of the corner traffic lights to be damaged. After further investigation the vehicle was located at a B Street business. A 31-year-old Florida man will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for leaving the scene of property damage.

February 6

12:30 a.m. - Needham police received a 911 call reporting an erratic operator. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted on Route 128 North. Following an investigation, the operator, Charles Thibeault, 66, of Weston, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor and failure to stop for a police officer.
