Needham Police: Three Drivers Pulled Over Sent to Court; Numerous Calls for Fraud
The following are excerpts from the Needham police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Oct. 27
- At 8:49 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on Highland Ave. for defective equipment. The operator, a 25-year-old Needham man, will be summonsed to court for operating after revoked registration and defective equipment.
Wednesday, Oct. 29
- At 5 p.m., police spotted a car in traffic on Highland Ave. at the intersection of Highland Ave. and Hunting Road. The vehicle had an expired registration sticker. Police pulled the car over, and a check showed that the registration was revoked for insurance cancellation. The owner, a 55-year-old Haverhill man, will be summonsed to court for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating a vehicle with an expired inspection.
- At 5:35 p.m., police spotted a car in traffic on Kendrick Street that turned onto Hunting Road. Police pulled the car over, as the driver had a suspended license. Matthew P. Carvalho, 32, 406 Mariners Hill Drive, Marshfield, was arrested and charged with operating with a suspended license.
- At 8:25 p.m., police took a report of fraud from a resident at 50 Jarvis Circle.
- At 10:05 p.m., police spotted a vehicle at the intersection of Highland Ave. and Rosemary Street that was operating with no headlights. The operator, a 43-year-old Dedham woman, will be summonsed to court for operating a vehicle without headlights, operating a vehicle with a revoked registration, operating a vehicle without insurance and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

- At 2:10 p.m., police took a report from a resident at 105 Blake St. involving fraudulent charges on her Verizon wireless account. She had been charged for products and services that she had not ordered since the fall of 2010.
- At 3:50 p.m., police took a report from a resident at 26 Emerson Place involving fraudulent use of her identity and social security number. An unknown person had attempted to fraudulently obtain unemployment insurance benefits using her name and social security number. The party was advised to contact social security.
