Needham Receives Federal Grant to Improve N2 Innovation Corridor

The Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce was recently awarded a $50,000 federal grant.

The Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce was recently awarded a federal grant which is intended to fund economic development along the N2 innovation Corridor.

The corridor covers roughly 500 acres of land along the Needham-Newton line in the area of Trip-Advisor’s brand new world headquarters.

The $50,000 grant, from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, was announced by Representative Joseph P. Kennedy.

Kennedy said in a statement that the money will “help leverage the corridor’s strengths.”

An additional $50,000 is funding was provided by area businesses and nonprofits.

A consultant will be hired to conduct a competitiveness study and to create a marketing plan for the corridor, according to the Chamber of Commerce.
