Needham Resident Appointed To American Cancer Society Board

The American Cancer Society welcomes 12 members to the newly created Eastern New England Board.

NEEDHAM, MA - From The American Cancer Society: The American Cancer Society has appointed 12 volunteers to the newly created American Cancer Society Board for the Eastern New England area.

“We all look forward to providing strategic volunteer leadership on a local level to help the American Cancer Society continue its tradition of saving lives, celebrating lives and leading the fight for a world without cancer,” said Needham resident Mark Goldberg, MD, chairman, Eastern New England Board. “As part of our responsibilities our board will help the Society forge collaborations with community partners that have a shared vision and contribute to advancing the Society’s cancer control and revenue priorities.”

Area Boards provide strategic volunteer leadership to the American Cancer Society which accelerates the mission of the Society, increases the organization’s relevance and generates revenue. The Eastern New England Board consists of American Cancer Society leadership volunteers from eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine and aspires to a diverse membership. The Board is empowered to develop and execute strategic plans in eastern New England to advance the mission of the American Cancer Society and is one of 46 non-fiduciary area boards nationwide. Board members serve three-year terms with a limit of two consecutive terms.
