Needham Rockets Review: Boys Soccer No. 1, Girls Volleyball Earns Shutout

In a weekly Rockets review by Needham High School, the athletics department reported that the boys soccer team remains number one in the Boston Globe rankings and also moved up to the top spot in the ESPN Boston High School poll.

The football team lost to Walpole on Friday night, 33-0.

The girls soccer team stays at the no. 3 ranking on ESPN’s high school poll, and moved up to no. 4 in the Globe poll, after beating both Framingham and Weymouth this week.

The girls volleyball team got its first shutout of the year, and also had an undefeated week, being both Framingham and Weymouth. The field hockey team is ranked no. 19 by the Globe, and beat Wayland and Braintree this week, losing to Framingham on Sept. 15.

The Rockets golf team is 3-1, beating Walpole, Brookline and Natick this week.

The girls cross country team was victorious over Natick and Norwood this week, and came in first in the Amherst Invitational.

In girls swimming, the team beat Braintree on Sept. 16, and Framingham on Sept. 19.
