Needham Teen Raises $3,376.00 For B Fund And American Junior Golf

NEEDHAM, MA – From The B Fund: Rebecca Skoler, a 16-year-old from Needham, has raised $3,376.00 for The B Fund and the American Junior Golf Association’s Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant Program. The funds were raised through the American Junior Golf Association’s Leadership Links program, which helps to teach young golfers about charitable giving. Through this program, Rebecca encouraged donors to pledge to donate a certain amount of money for each birdie that she made throughout the 2017 season.

Rebecca is a Founding Member of The B Fund, an organization that empowers individuals to use their time, talents, and treasures to raise funds and awareness for families caring for critically ill children. Since the organization’s founding in 2014, Rebecca has played a pivotal role in philanthropic activities that have raised funds and awareness for families caring for critically ill children. Thanks to her efforts, The B Fund has inspired 11,918 individuals to use their time, talents, and treasures to provide financial and emotional support to over 4,000 families. Just a few examples of their impact include providing 13,500 parking vouchers, 4,500 meal vouchers, and 2,744 nights in patient family housing.

When asked about her involvement, Rebecca said, “My favorite part of working with the B Fund is watching our actions and activities inspire others. I also enjoy watching a group of people with all different ages, personalities, and ideas come together with a single mission of changing the world.”

In addition to helping hone her golf talents, Rebecca’s project with Leadership Links enabled her to assist families caring for critically ill children by providing them with services such as meal vouchers, parking vouchers, and stays in patient family housing. By the end of her season, Rebecca was able to exceed her initial fundraising goal of $3,000.
