Needham Turns Purple For Alzheimer’s Awareness

The initiative, Needham Goes Purple, is part of a larger Alzheimer's Association initiative called The Longest Day®.

From The City of Needham: This June, the town of Needham will turn purple, part of a resident-led effort to raise awareness and funds to advance Alzheimer’s Association care, support and research programs.

The initiative, Needham Goes Purple, is part of a larger Alzheimer’s Association initiative called The Longest Day®. For The Longest Day, participants around the country choose activities, host events or mobilize an entire community to ignite a global conversation about Alzheimer’s disease, the brain and other dementias as part of Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month®.

“Earlier this year, we put out a call for local businesses to get involved in this movement and we are proud to have over 50 sponsors on board for Needham Goes Purple,” shares Suzanne Lissy, Needham resident and co-chair of the town initiative.
