Neighbor Trouble, Vehicle Vandalism: Needham Police Log

February 23

After a brief investigation at a Gould Street business, a 27-year-old Boston resident was issued a summons for failing to register as a sex offender.

12:30 a.m. - An officer observed an above ground transformer on the property of a Garden Street business that had been vandalized. The graffiti was photographed and the incident is under investigation.

2:45 a.m. - An officer observed a vehicle traveling in the area of Needham Square. A check of RMV records showed the vehicle's registered owner to have a suspended license. Following a motor vehicle stop and a brief investigation the operator, a 61-year-old Needham man, was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

February 25

A Carleton Road resident came to the police station to report that he lost the front license plate to his vehicle. An RMV form was filled out. The resident will go to the RMV to get replacement plates.


February 26

9:00 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to a business on 1st Avenue for a report of vandalism to a parking sign.

3:13 p.m. - An officer responded to Avery Street for a reported assault and battery between two coworkers. On arrival, one party had a minor scratch on their finger. Both parties were advised that if they wished to seek charges against each other they could do so through Dedham District Court.

A Worcester resident reported that his car was sideswiped by another vehicle while on Highland Avenue, near the Newton line. The other vehicle did not stop and he was unable to see the operator. The damage to his vehicle is under $1,000. The person was told to notify his insurance company.

February 27

11:00 a.m. - A walk-in to the station reported an ongoing neighbor trouble. Both parties were advised to seek complaints.

A Needham resident came into the police station to report he was the victim of a scam. He gave an individual access to his computer with the aim of repairing it. He made payment and the computer was not fixed.
