New Manager Approved for Sheraton Hotel
Selectmen approve application submitted by Bill Young
The Board of Selectmen approved a request for change in general manager this week for the Sheraton Needham Hotel on Cabot St.
Bill Young submitted the application for a change in manager for himself. In order for the change to be made official, Young needed the application to be signed by Needham Selectmen, due to the fact that he will be managing a property that serves alcohol in town.
On Tuesday evening, he introduced himself to the board and present his paperwork.

"I'm the new GM and I intend to be at the hotel for some time," said the 49-year-old Young.
Selectman Dan Matthews welcomed Young to the town, but reminded him that Needham has a unique history with liquor licenses, having once been a dry town. Matthews advised following Town guidelines involving alcohol is imperative.

"You have a very strong background in hospitality and we welcome you in town, because we want you to succeed," Matthews said. "But you also know the rules and we need you to take them seriously."
Young assured the board that he would, citing his familiarity with Needham.
"We take it very seriously," he said. "I was the GM at Sheraton for two years prior and then traveled for a year. But I'm excited to have this opportunity."
