Noise Complaints, Loose Dog, And More: Needham Police Log

July 14
4:20 p.m. - A resident of Pythias Circle responded to the police station to a report that he had been contacted by Santander Bank where he has a business account. He was told by the branch manager that someone had attempted to cash a check at the branch and they declined it but there were two checks that were cashed. This incident is under investigation.
4:50 p.m. - Officers were dispatched to Captain Robert Cook Drive for the report of a loose pit bull. The dog and owner were identified and left the area without issue.

July 15
8:50 a.m. - A Laurel Drive resident at the police station reported a larceny from his bank account via ATM withdrawals in Boston. The party contacted his bank and credit bureaus.

July 16
12:10 a.m. - Officers were dispatched to a Deerfield Road residence for a report of a noise disturbance. Several people were observed in the street that started to walk away to the rear of a Deerfield residence. After subsequent investigation a 19-year-old man from Needham was issued a summons for furnishing alcohol to minors.
4:23 p.m. - An officer took a report of a larceny by false pretense from a resident on Highland Avenue. The resident attempted to purchase a phone online through Craigslist. The transaction was made and resident discovered that the phone was a knock off and did not function.
