Nurses Plan Strike at Local Hospital

Nurses at Newton-Wellesley Hospital say their benefits have been drastically cut.

Nurses at Newton-Wellesley Hospital have planned a one-day strike at the end of this month, according to an announcement made on Friday.

The nurses plan to strike June 30. A notice of intent to strike is required to be made known 10 days ahead of time. A protest is planned because of “deteriorating patient care conditions,” nurses announced.

Partners Healthcare’s proposed cuts to nurses benefits is also playing a major role in their decision to protest.
