OUI, Person Struck by Vehicle and More: Needham Police Log

April 17
10:00 a.m. - A Greendale Avenue resident entered the station to report check fraud. The matter is under investigation.
5:30 p.m. - A Pickering Street resident reported that a purple mountain bike was stolen from the between 7 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday.

April 18
5:30 p.m. - Officers were dispatched to a hit and run on Central Avenue and to be on the lookout for a silver colored SUV. Upon a canvass of the area, officers observed a dark-colored SUV with heavy front end damage in the area of Nehoiden Street. After a brief investigation, Lillian Hopkins, 2, of Canton, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.

11:00 a.m. - Officers responded to an Eaton Road address for a past breaking and entering. The incident is under investigation.
2:05 p.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle on 4th Avenue for speeding. As a result of the stop, a 22-year-old New Hampshire man was summoned to Dedham District Court for speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
April 19
9:00 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to the area of Great Plain Avenue and Chestnut Street for a report of a man struck by a motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the man had unlawfully stepped into oncoming traffic between two stopped vehicles. The operator of the vehicle involved was not cited and the man was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
