Package Theft, Dumpster Fire, And More: Needham Police Log

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

November 10

6:00 p.m. - Needham High School staff reported that sometime after school, it was discovered that someone wrote bias related graffiti in one of the bathrooms.

12:50 p.m. - A walk-in reported fraud for an unknown party using her social security number. The person had been notified by Experian of the suspicious activity.

3:30 p.m. - A person walked into the police station to report a suspicious text she received a few minutes earlier. The person stated she works in Needham and wanted to make sure it wasn't a scam. The text stated that they needed help and attached three pictures. It was determined that the text was from a child playing with a cell phone.

November 14

7:40 a.m. - A resident of Paris, France contacted the station to report a past larceny of an Amazon package while he was a guest at the Sheraton Hotel on Cabot Street.
11:30 a.m. - A resident of Hunnewell Street reported that she had been scammed out of $700. Needham Police are investigating.

November 15

9:45 p.m. - Officers responded to a Chapel Street address for a report of a dumpster fire. Upon my arrival, an officer observed a dumpster adjacent to the MBTA lot to be smoking heavily. Needham Fire arrived on scene and quickly extinguished the fire without incident.
