Police Chase Larceny Suspect, Check Forgery: Needham Police Log

January 29

6:45 p.m. - Police responded to a reported shoplifting incident on Highland Avenue. The reporting party said that two female parties entered the store and were acting suspiciously. They then left and she noticed merchandise was missing. There are no suspects at this time.

January 30

6:00 p.m. - The CEO of Architects For Learning came in to report several larcenies by one of her employees. She stated that on June 25 and July 30, her office coordinator stole two business checks. The employee forged and cashed them. The matter is under investigation.

7:00 p.m. - Newton police put out a BOLO for a white Toyota that was just involved in a larceny from EMS on Needham Street in Newton. The two parties were described as a male 6’2” tall, dark jacket and an unknown female accomplice. When officers responded to the area of Highland Avenue at the Newton line and checked the parking lot to Staples and Petco, they found a white Toyota in the third row by Petco. An officer approached the male and he did not obey the officer’s commands, got in his vehicle and began to flee the parking lot. The operator drove over curbs and struck a vehicle. A short pursuit ensued but was called off. There was a female accomplice that was arrested by Newton PD. The incident is still under investigation.

January 31

1:50 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Linden Street address for a report of a suspicious person looking in the window of a home. After a brief check of the area, a 34-year-old Norwood resident was located. The Norwood resident stated that he was visiting his girlfriend. The man was identified and sent on his way after the resident chose not to pursue any further action.

1:30 a.m. - A Roslindale resident was hit by a car on Dedham Ave. The operator of the car, a 35-year-old female from Roslindale, will be charged with operating without a license. The pedestrian was transported to Beth Israel Needham and treated for minor injuries
