May 13- 2:07 p.m.- Three males were observed entering the woods in the area of 746 Charles River St. Upon police arrival, officers observed the parties at the rope swing that extends over the Charles River. This area is marked in several locations as MWRA property and states that there is no trespassing.
As officers approached the males, they observed one of the parties "bring a pipe to his lips and keep a continuous flame from his lighter over the end of the pipe," signifying marijuana smoking. As officers approached, the male tried to conceal what he was doing by turning his back to them, fanning the air and patting his clothes. When questioned by police, the party answered, "Just smoking a little marijuana," in between coughs.
Upon searching the party, a 20-year-old North Carolina man, police discovered a bag of marijuana. All three parties were then identified and told they were trespassing. The NC male was also issued a citation for carrying one ounce or less of marijuana.
