Police Log: Car Pulled Over for Rejected Sticker, Driver Cited for Pot
A routine stop turned into a marijuana citation for a 39-year-old Norwood man.
Needham police officer Timothy Dooher was conducting radar enforcement in the 900 block of South St. on July 20 when he observed a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a rejected inspection sticker drive past around 11:45 a.m.
Dooher stopped the vehicle at the corner of Stonecrest Dr. and South St. and approached the vehicle. Dooher related that as he was speaking to the driver, he could smell an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Dooher also observed marijuana seeds on the passenger side floorboard.
After a search of the vehicle, Dooher found a marijuana pipe with burnt residue and flakes of marijuana within. The driver, a 39-year-old Norwood man, was cited for possessing less than one ounce of marijuana and issued a motor vehicle citation for failure to inspect the motor vehicle.
