Police Log: Fraud, Car Break-in, Trespassing

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges do not imply conviction.

February 18

6:00 p.m. - An officer responded to a Highland Avenue address for a report of a past vehicle break-in. Police observed a broken rear window on the victim’s car. The scene was documented and a canvas of the area was conducted. The incident is still under investigation and there are no suspects at this time.

2:15 p.m. - Officers responded to a reported credit card fraud case at a Cabot Street business. Police spoke to hotel staff who stated that two male parties checked in using the stolen credit card at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 18. $130.51 was charged to the credit card. The two male parties checked out the following day at approximately 1:28 p.m. The victim, a 24-year-old Holden resident reported the credit card stolen to Needham Police on 2/19/2016. The matter is under investigation.

1:30 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Hillside Avenue residence for a reported trespassing. Upon arrival police spoke to the reporting party and the party in question. After further investigation, it was determined that the party in question was given permission to be there by the resident of the apartment. The party in question was advised to return when the resident was at home in order to prevent any further confusion.

9:00 p.m. - An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highland Avenue and stopped the vehicle near Truman Street. After an investigation, the operator, Smogne Eliezer, 28, of Randolph, was placed under arrest for speeding, operating after revoked license subsequent offense, and under a default warrant out of Somerville District Court.
