Police Log: Hit and Run, Car Hits Pedestrian, One Arrest

The following are excerpts from the Needham police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Oct. 11

  • At 12:30 p.m., police responded to Ridgeway Ave. for a report of a hit and run. The resident said his car had been struck while he was parked at the Briarwood nursing home.
  • At 2:35 p.m., a person walked into the station to say he was parked at a Highland Ave. address when he saw that his vehicle had minor front end damage.

Sunday, Oct. 12

  • At 8:30 a.m., police responded to St. Mary’s to investigate a report of a past hit and run accident. A guardrail was severely damaged.
  • At 10:20 a.m., police responded to a 1st Ave. business for a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. The pedestrian declined medical attention.

Monday, Oct. 13

  • At 12:40 p.m., police responded to 246 Webster St. for a report of a truck damaging a resident’s lawn. There were tire tracks.
  • At 5:02 p.m., police stopped a motorcycle on Central Ave. for having an obscured registration plate. The operator, a 20-year-old Natick male, will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for concealment of a registration plate, operating with a suspended registration, and unlicensed operation.
