Police Log: Homeowner Wakes to Sound of Mailbox Being Toppled

The mailbox in question was one of four vandalized on the street.

At 7:36 a.m. on July 24, police met with a homeowner on Winding River Rd. for a report of vandalism. The reporting party stated that an unknown person had knocked over his mailbox at 2:30 that morning, a time he said he was certain of since he had been woken up by the incident.

The man reported that he heard a "loud, banging sound out in front of his house," according to police reports. The man looked out the window at this time and saw a motor vehicle speeding into the distance. He also noted that his mailbox had been knocked off its post and was lying in the driveway.

Officer Matthew MacDonald explained to the man that extra police patrols would be added to the area.
