Police Log: Plane Tickets Purchased without Man’s Knowledge

The man found out about the fraud after a call from Travelocity.

A man spoke with police at 12:42 p.m. on Oct. 11 and related that he was the victim of ID fraud. The man said that he received a call from Travelocity, an online travel agency, at asking if he had just purchased airline tickets.

Travelocity reportedly told the man that someone had just purchased two plane tickets to Ohio using his American Express credit card. The total cost of the tickets was $1,500.

The man told police that he contacted American Express and found that the card was also used to make purchases on another website (not specified by police). American Express cancelled the card and will issue the man a new one.
