Police Log: Suspects Allegedly Bang on Man’s Car, Prevent from Leaving Lot

The men reportedly demanded money from the reporting party.

Police were dispatched to Highland Circle on July 12 for a report of threats. A party who claimed that two former business associates had threatened him met officers on the scene.

The party said that he and his business associates were currently involved in arbitration over a failed venture. He reported that suspect number one had called him on his business line on June 29 around 11 a.m. About an hour later, the reporting party went to leave the parking lot of his office when suspect number one pulled in behind his vehicle, blocking him from leaving.

Suspect number one, a 65-year-old Westwood man, was reportedly accompanied by suspect number two, a 33-year-old Westwood man. Both began banging on his car windows while asking for money and demanding that he exit the vehicle. The reporting party told the men that he was calling the police and they fled the scene.

The reporting party stated that he did not actually report to the police at that time and that a second incident took place on July 12. The man stated that he received a call from suspect number one, who was again demanding money relative to their pending arbitration case.

Police contacted suspect number one at his home and stated that the reporting party would like to issue a verbal order of trespass. The suspect said that he understood the situation. Police then told the man that he and his son would be receiving letters of disinvite from the reporting party's attorney, as well as notices to appear before the court for the charge of threats to commit a crime.
