Police responded to the Needham Junction MBTA station at 1:22 p.m. on July 24 for a report of a knocked over light pole.
Police found no vehicles in the vicinity of the pole, but a witness spoke with officers. A party also told police that he had called in the registration of the truck involved, which came back to a Yourick Rd. residence.
NSTAR reported to the scene to secure live wires and police noted that the light pole had snapped off at the base. In addition to damaged wires, the scene found damage to several shrubs.

Police responded to Yourick Rd. and took photos of the truck in question, which was damaged. Additionally, a blue paint transfer from the crash scene matched the color of the truck. Plants that were struck on the scene were also found wedged in the bumper of the truck.
Crash investigators noted that tire tracks found at Needham Junction show that the truck crossed the double line before it was safe to do so while attempting to turn onto Junction St.

The driver of the truck, a 43-year-old female is being charged with leaving the scene of a crash and failure to stay in marked lanes. The light pole is the property of the MBTA.
