Police Log: Two Vehicles Struck, Delivery Truck Possible Culprit

The driver of the truck did not deny hitting the vehicles.

Needham Police were dispatched to 25 Chapel St. at 9 a.m. on Jan. 25 for a report of a hit and run.

Police spoke with two different parties that day, who both said that someone had struck their cars in a rear parking lot the day before. The time frame of the incident was reported as between 8:15 and 10:15 a.m. and the parties believed that a delivery truck was the culprit.

Both vehicles were parked next to one another and police noted damage to the rear of the cars including dents and scrape marks. Officers found these damages to be consistent with that of a box truck’s strikes. Additionally, the damages were at the same level on both cars.

Finally, police were put in touch with the driver and told him of the accident. The driver did not deny striking other vehicles, according to police reports, and stated that if he had hit two cars, he might not have realized due to the size of his truck.

Police filed an exchange form and gave it to all parties involved in the incident. Accident forms were then filled out.
