Police Report Youths Threw Rocks from Broadmeadow School Roof

Three subjects reportedly targeted cars in the lot below.

Needham police officers were called to Broadmeadow School at 9:45 p.m. on June 22 for a report of youths on the roof who were throwing rocks. The suspects were three males, formerly riding bikes, according to reports.

Upon arrival, officers were met by the reporting parties in the driveway of the school. The parties elaborated on the description of the youths, relating that they were teens, and that one had "bushy brown hair" and was wearing a Red Sox t-shirt.

According to statements given on the scene, the youths began throwing rocks from the rooftop onto vehicles exiting the parking lot. The reporting parties yelled at the youths, the latter of whom "disappeared back onto the roof" before riding their bikes from the rear of the school across the playground and then down Bird St.

Officers observed in the Broadmeadow parking lot that several small stones lay on the ground, each one resembling those found on the roof of the building. All three vehicles involved sustained minor scratches and dents.

A check of the area for the youths proved negative.
