Police Reports: Bat Bites Man on Whitman Road

Police were called to a Whitman Road residence on Wednesday, Aug. 8 for the report of a bat in the house. The resident said that the bat had bitten him. The bat was caught and will be tested for disease.

Resident’s Info Used to Open Store Accounts
A Powers Street resident came to the police station on Monday, Aug. 6 at around 4:25 p.m. to report that he was the victim of identity fraud. Someone had used his personal information to open multiple store credit cards.

Heavy Breather Calls Twice
A Dunbarton Road resident reported on Monday, Aug. 6 that someone had called twice from a blocked number and just breathed heavily into the phone. Police told the resident how to track the phone calls if they occurred again.

Window Broken, Egged on Burnside Road
A home on Burnside Road was egged and a window broken sometime before Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 1 a.m. Police are investigating.

Debit Card Used in Washington
A Brookline resident reported on Tuesday, Aug. 7 that her son’s debit card was used to make fraudulent purchase in Washington state.

GPS Stolen From Vehicle
A Burnside Road resident reported on Tuesday, Aug. 7 that a GPS unit was stolen from their vehicle in July. The vehicle was parked in the driveway, and the doors were unlocked.

Bag of Clothing Left at ATM
A South Street resident reported on Tuesday, Aug 7 that she had accidentally left a bag of new clothing next to the Bank of America ATM on Great Plain Avenue the day before. The woman returned the next day to retrieve the bag and it was gone. The woman said she would contact the bank to see if she could view the camera footage.

Pocketbook Missing from Nursing Home
A Jarvis Street resident reported on Tuesday, Aug. 7 that a relative’s pocketbook had gone missing from her belongings while she was staying briefly at a local nursing home. The matter is under investigation.
