Police Reports: Bikes Stolen From Needham Homes

Bicycles were reported missing from two separate Needham homes on Tuesday, July 31.

In the first instance, an Oak Street resident called the at around 4:15 p.m. to report that a bicycle had been taken from under the porch sometime during the day. The resident also told police that his son’s bike had been stolen the previous Thursday from his yard, according to reports.

At around 4:50 p.m., a Pickering Street resident came to the police station to report that her bicycle had been taken from her front porch sometime in the last two weeks. The resident described it as a black Trek mountain bike with pink lettering.

Waltham Man Cited For Driving Without a License
Police were called to the area of Great Plain and Central avenues for the report of a motor vehicle crash with property damage on Monday, July 30 at around 3:50 p.m. One of the drivers, a 26-year-old Waltham man, did not have a valid driver’s license. The man was summonsed to Dedham District Court for operating a motor vehicle without a license and following too close.

Neighbor Dispute on Chambers Street
Police were called to a Chambers Street residence on Monday, July 30 for the report of a neighbor entering the home without permission. Officers spoke to both parties and determined that a female neighbor had been given permission to do some handyman work in the other woman’s apartment. The two individuals agreed to stay away from one another in the future, according to reports.

Suspicious Phone Call
A Norfolk Street resident called police on Monday, July 30 to report a suspected fraudulent phone call.

The resident said that a man had called and agreed to do work for her but said he needed payment up front. He told the woman to purchase a pre-paid card and provide him with the card information.

The incident is being investigated.

iPod, Charger Taken in Vehicle Break-in
A vehicle on Warren Street was broken into sometime over the weekend of July 28-29. An iPod and iPod charger were reported missing from the vehicle. The vehicle doors were unlocked at the time of the theft.
