Police Reports: Cash Missing from After-School Program

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Staff at the extended-day program reported on Monday, March 19 that money had been taken from petty cash. The cash had gone missing from a locked cabinet over the course of one month, according to reports. The matter is under investigation.

Jumper Cable Larceny
Jumper cables were reported stolen from the on Highland Avenue on Monday, March 19 at around 10:23 a.m. Police spoke with the suspect, who reportedly said that it was a misunderstanding and that he would return to pay for the cable.

Stop Sign Damaged
A stop sign on the corner of Alfreton and Mark Lee Road was found vandalized on Monday, March 19. No other signs in the area had been vandalized, according to reports. The Department of Public Works was notified of the damages.

Driver Cited For Failure to Stop
A 35-year-old Needham man was summonsed to court for several vehicle violations after he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign on Monday, March 19.

Police observed the vehicle fail to stop at the intersection of Hillside Avenue and West Street at around 7 p.m. and pulled it over. The driver was found not to have a valid driver’s license. He was also cited for operating a motor vehicle with revoked registration and driving without insurance.

Suspicious Noise
A Valley Road resident called police on Tuesday, March 20 to report that she heard someone in the house. Police responded and searched the home but found it secure. There were no signs of forced entry.

Debit Card Used at Michigan Wal-Mart
A West Street resident reported on Tuesday, March 20 that someone had fraudulently used her debit card at a Wal-Mart in Michigan. Police advised the resident to report the fraud to a credit bureau and place a fraud alert on her account.
