Police Reports: Driver Cited for Going Wrong Direction on One-Way
The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

One driver was cited for going the wrong way on a one-way street after it ended in a crash on Wednesday, March 21.
Police responded to the report of a vehicle crash near Great Plain Avenue and Chestnut Street at around 11:10 a.m. After talking with the drivers, police found that one of the drivers had backed up on a one-way street, striking the vehicle behind it. The vehicle sustained minor damages, but no injuries were reported.
The driver was cited for going the wrong way on a one-way and failure to use care when backing.

Speeding Driver Arrested on Warrant
A 27-year-old Somerville man was arrested on Tuesday, March 20 on a warrant out of Somerville after he was caught speeding in Needham.

Police pulled over the man’s vehicle at around 5:11 p.m. after observing him traveling above the speed limit on Central Avenue. The driver was arrested on the warrant and was cited for not having his license in possession and speeding.
Fraud at Toys 'R' Us
A Central Avenue resident called police on Tuesday, March 20 after discovering that her personal information had been used to open a credit card at Toys "R" Us. The company declined the credit application. The resident was advised to report the fraud to her credit companies and make her bank aware of the situation.
Vehicle Strikes Driver’s Side Door
Police were called to a crash at Great Plain Avenue and Chestnut Street on Wednesday, March 21 at around 12:05 p.m. A man in a parked vehicle had opened his driver’s side door and another vehicle that was passing by had struck the door. No injuries were reported.
Driving in the Wrong Lane
A 31-year-old Brockton man was cited for failure to keep within the lines while driving in Needham on Wednesday, March 21.
The vehicle was heading east in the westbound lane of Great Plain Avenue near Highland Avenue when it was stopped around 1:05 p.m. The driver was cited for failure to keep right of the double yellow lines and unlicensed operation. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
Suspicious Cell Phone Calls
A Parker Road resident contacted police on Wednesday, March 21 after her daughter received threatening calls from a cell phone from an unknown party. Police advised the woman to contact her phone company.
Craigslist Fraud Reported
A Natick resident who works in Needham contacted police on Thursday, March 22 to report that he was the victim of a scam on craigslist.com. The matter is being investigated.
Silver Dollar Missing
A West Street resident reported on Friday, March 23 that a silver dollar was missing from his bureau drawer. The matter is under investigation.
Resident’s Identity Used to File Another's Taxes
A Paul Revere Road resident reported on Saturday, March 24 that he was the victim of identity theft. The individual learned that an unknown person had used his Social Security number to file a tax return. He was advised to contact the appropriate credit companies to activate a fraud alert.
Hit and Run on First Avenue
Police were called to a First Avenue residence on Sunday, March 25 at around 1:19 a.m. for the report of a past hit and run crash. The resident’s vehicle was damaged on the right side. No one had witnessed the crash, according to reports.
Driver Leaves Without Paying for Gas
Police were called to the on Highland Avenue on Sunday, March 25 after a driver left without paying for gas.
The station employee had written down the vehicle’s registration. When contacted, the driver reportedly said that he had paid with his credit card; however, a review of his statement revealed no transactions for that day. The man said he would return to the station to pay for the gas.
Bag of Electronics Stolen from Hotel
Police were called to the on Sunday, March 25 for the report of a stolen backpack containing various electronics. The victim said the backpack had been taken from outside their room while they were getting ready to leave. The matter is under investigation.
Driver Cited in Crash
Police were called to a two-vehicle crash in the area of Central Avenue and Meetinghouse Circle on Friday, March 23 at around 9:48 a.m. One of the drivers had allegedly failed to use care when pulling out onto the roadway. Both vehicles sustained moderate damages. One of the drivers was cited.
