Police Reports: ‘Erratic’ Driving Leads to OUI Arrest

A Stoughton man was arrested on Thursday, March 15 for alleged drunk driving after being stopped in Needham for erratic driving.
Police responded to the Needham Square area at around 9:22 p.m. for the report of an erratic operator. After speaking with the driver, the responding officer noted the smell of an alcoholic beverage, according to reports.
After further investigation, the driver, a 39-year-old Needham resident, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and cited for a red light violation.

Apartment Break-in
A Chambers Street resident reported on Sunday, March 18 around 1:28 p.m. that someone had broken into his apartment and taken several items. The incident is under investigation.

Tractor Trail Damages Light Pole
A tractor trailer struck a traffic light at Highland Avenue and West Street on Monday, March 12 at around 11:04 a.m. The light post was broken, and Department of Public Works workers were called in to repair it.
Driver Cited for Speeding, Unlicensed Operation
A 39-year-old Newton man was stopped for speeding on West Street on Wednesday, March 14 at around 6:47 p.m. The driver was found to have a suspended license. He was summonsed to court for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding.
Pickering Street Resident Reports Stolen Wallet
A Pickering Street resident reported that her wallet had been stolen while she was having lunch on Monday, March 12. Police advised the woman to place a fraud alert on her credit cards. The matter remains under investigation.
