Police Reports: Four Teens Charged with Alcohol Possession

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Four Needham teens were charged with possession of alcohol after their vehicle was stopped for speeding on Thursday, May 10.

Police observed the vehicle going 65 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone on Greendale Avenue at around 9:15 p.m. After pulling over the vehicle, police noticed “a large amount of alcohol” inside, according to reports. The driver and all of the occupants were under 21 years of age.

Three 18-year-old Needham males and one 17-year-old Needham female will be summonsed to court for underage possession of alcohol.

Hit and Run at Hunnewell and Mark Lee
A hit and run was reported on Thursday, May 10 at the intersection of Hunnewell Street and Mark Lee Road.

The victim was traveling on Hunnewell Street at around 5:08 p.m. when a gray motor vehicle passed through the stop sign at Mark Lee Road and sideswipe his vehicle, according to reports. The gray vehicle pulled over to let out a passenger and then drove off down Hunnewell Street.

Vehicle and Bike Involved in Crash
Police were called to Chestnut Street on Thursday, May 10 at around 5:30 p.m. for the report of a motor vehicle and bicycle crash. No injuries were reported. The vehicle operator was cited for an unrelated vehicle offense.

Cash Stolen in Break-in at Owens Poultry Farm
An overnight break-in was reported at on Central Avenue on Friday, May 11. The store employees reported that sometime during the night someone had entered the building and stolen a large amount of cash.

Needham Police detectives are investigating.

Waltham Man Abandons Vehicle in Needham
A 42-year-old Waltham man will be charged with abandoning a vehicle after he left his car at on Highland Avenue for more than a month.

The matter was reported to police on Friday, May 11. The man will be summonsed to court on several charges resulting from the abandonment.
