Police Reports: Teen Arrested for Alcohol Possession
The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.
Police observed two males acting suspiciously in the parking lot of on Saturday, May 5 at around 4 p.m. While talking with the individuals, an officer noted “a strong odor of alcoholic beverage.” One of the individuals, a 16-year-old male, was found to have an alcoholic beverage in his possession. He was arrested for underage possession of alcohol.
During booking, police also found a small amount of marijuana on the teen. He was issued a civil citation for possession of under one ounce of marijuana.
The other teen was brought back to the police station, where his father later picked him up.

A Mercer Road resident contacted police on Saturday, May 5 after an unknown man and woman approached him asking questions about an alleged Craigslist ad that listed his home for rent. The man had not placed an ad to sell his home. Police are investigating.

Tire Slashed at McDonald’s
A Needham resident reported that his tire was slashed while his vehicle was parked outside on Chestnut Street. The matter is under investigation.
Checking Fraud Reported
A Winslow Road resident reported on Saturday, May 5 that someone had made several unauthorized purchases with his checking account. Police are investigating.
Stolen Bike Recovered
A Melrose Avenue resident reported that a bike had been stolen from outside on Sunday, May 6. The bike was described as being a black Trek with black rims. The bike was recovered shortly afterward at the school and returned to the owner.
Dog Struck in Grocery Parking Lot
Police were called to the parking lot of on Sunday, May 6 for the report of a dog that had been struck by a vehicle. The dog ran off but was later located and found to have minor injuries. The dog’s owner was located.
Jewelry Stolen from Ware Road Home
A Ware Road resident reported that several pieces of jewelry were taken from their home on Monday, May 7. Police are investigating.
