Police: Stolen Lawn Ornament; Hit and Run; Tax Fraud

The Needham PD supplied the following information. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Sept. 16

  • At 12:40 a.m., police responded to a report of an 83-year-old man who backed his car into another parked car. He left the area.

Wednesday, Sept. 17

  • At 7:10 a.m., police took a report from a resident whose credit card was cloned and had several thousand dollars in fraudulent purchases made.
  • At 9:20 a.m., Hellas Imports reported a past hit and run
  • At 11:30 a.m., police took a report from a Fairfield Street resident who had a lawn ornament stolen. The value is approximately $30.
  • At 1:20 p.m., police responded to the Reservoir Street Pumping Station for a report of past larceny.
  • At 6:10 p.m., police spotted a trailer parked on Livingston Circle. A check showed the trailer had no insurance and the plates were assigned to another vehicle. the owner of the plates, a 46-year-old Hopkinton resident, was summonsed to court for having no insurance and attaching plates
  • At 7:58 p.m., police took a report of identity theft from a Central Ave. resident. The resident said that someone had filed tax returns using his social security number and name.
