Regional Chamber Seeks Green Business Award Nominees
The Newton-Needham Regional Chamber's Environment Committee is seeking nominees for their 'Green Business' award.

NEEDHAM, MA - From the Newtown-Needham Regional Chamber: The Newton-Needham Regional Chamber’s Environment Committee is looking for nominations for its annual Green Business Awards, which will be presented at the Spring Business Breakfast on May 17 at the Needham Sheraton.
To qualify, a business must be based in either Newton, Needham or an adjacent community and either 1) made significant progress in reducing energy or other environmental strategies toward sustainability, or 2) supply green products or services.
In evaluating businesses judges may consider the following factors: waste prevention, recycling, purchasing, energy and water conservation, involving stakeholders (such as employees, clients and/or suppliers), transportation and social capital.

Top honors in 2017 went to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Needham for an employee driven effort to change behaviors and make the hospital more sustainable and to Sage Builders for its commitment to green building practices and for its president’s commitment to giving back to the community.
Also recognized were SolarOne Solutions and Go Green Lawn Care.

“We hope the recognition these outstanding businesses receive each year inspires others to also embrace best practices and a commitment to reducing our carbon footprint,” said Greg Reibman, president of the Newton-Needham Regional Chamber.
