Restaurant Spotlight: Needham's Sweet Basil

Needham’s Sweet Basil restaurant boasts a crowd-pleasing menu that allows diners to bring their own beer or wine.

The eatery is located on 924 Great Plain Avenue.

Diners will immediately feel welcome and comfortable upon being seated. The atmpsopshere is quite cozy, featuring low-level lighting and fresh flowers at each table. The staff is friendly and quite knowledgable.

The menu prices range from $11 up to the $30 area.

An array of appetizers, soups and salads are offered, including delicious dishes such as Baked gouda wrapped in fillo dough, with berries and truffle vin over greens, and Potato and poblano gnocchi in lemony ginger broth with lobster and bok choy.

A far as entrees go, one could go with a dinner staple, chicken parmesan with a side of pasta. Some fancier meals will please your palate with explosive flavor, including the Pork chop with spicy sweet potato fries, sauteed greens and agrodolce sauce or Bolognese with beef, sausage and mushrooms over pappardelle.

Be sure to arrive early as it fills up fast around the dinner hour. Casual style clothing works perfectly.

Sweet Basil is open for diner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday. On the weekend they open at 4 p.m.
