Route 128 North On-Ramp From Highland Avenue West Closed This Weekend

NEEDHAM, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that beginning at 10:00 p.m. June 23, and lasting through 10:00 p.m. June 25, the on-ramp from Highland Avenue westbound to I-95/Route 128 North in Needham will be closed due to ongoing construction operations as part of the Add-A-Lane project.

All travel lanes on I-95/Route 128 in this area will remain open during these operations and appropriate signage and police details will be present to guide traffic to the detour routes on local roadways.

Drivers on Highland Avenue westbound seeking to access I-95/Route 128 northbound will utilize the following detour route:

• Continue on Highland Avenue westbound
• Turn right at Gould Street or Webster Street
• Turn left onto Central Avenue
• Turn right at Cedar Street
• Turn right at Worcester Street to enter Route 9
• Take the on-ramp for I-95 northbound (towards Peabody)

Drivers are advised to remain aware when traveling through this area and are encouraged to seek alternate routes to reach destinations. Those traveling on Highland Avenue should please follow temporary signs for detour routes. All operations are weather dependent, and in case of inclement weather, operations will shift to the following weekend
