Selectmen To Hold Hearing On Pedestrian Safety

The selectmen will hold a community discussion meeting on the issue on March 27 at 7 pm. at Town Hall.

NEEDHAM, MA — Residents concerned about the state of pedestrian safety in Needham will have a venue for discussion.

The Town announced Wednesday that the selectmen will hold a community discussion meeting on the issue on March 27 at 7 pm. at Town Hall. Residents will be able to make suggestions and bring up issues related to pedestrian safety in Needham, according to the notice.

The meeting announcement comes day after a tragic crash that resulted in the death of two teenagers. Talia Newfield and Adrienne Garrido were near Needham High School Saturday night when they were struck by a vehicle. Newfield died that night while Garrido passed away the next day.

No arrests have been made and the crash remains under police investigation.

Residents will have the opportunity to submit comments in writing prior to the meeting or in person at the meeting. Written comments may be submitted to the Board of Selectmen, c/o Needham Town Hall, 1471 Highland Avenue, Needham, MA or by email to selectmen@needhamma.gov.
