Shoplifting, OUI, And More: Needham Police Log

March 16

8:48 a.m. - An officer responded to a Central Avenue business for a report of a past breaking and entering. It appeared someone broke out a front window and stole items through the window. The matter is under investigation.

11:00 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to CVS on Highland Avenue for a reported shoplifting. Dispatch reported that two suspects left the store in a blue Mercedes sedan. Dispatch reported that the vehicle turned onto West Street heading towards Webster Street. The remains under under investigation.

3:40 p.m. - An officer pulled a vehicle over on Chestnut Street. After a brief investigation the operator, Robert Nee, 52 year, of Norwood, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

3:20 p.m. - An officer was performing selective enforcement in the area of 1560 Great Plain Ave. As a result of a traffic stop, a 32-year-old woman from Framingham was issued a summons for unlicensed operation and speeding.

7:00 p.m. - An officer responded to a Great Plain Avenue residence for a report of a past hit and run that occurred on Brookline Street earlier in the day. The vehicle had minor damage and the victim did not see the other vehicle involved. A report was filed. There are no suspects at this time.

March 20

8:45 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for a gridlock violation on Highland Avenue in Needham. It was determined that the operator, a 44-year-old Framingham man, did not have a valid license. The operator was cited for gridlock and unlicensed operation of a vehicle and was issued a summons for the same offenses. The vehicle was inventoried and towed from the scene.
