Shoplifting, Teen Hit By Car, And More: Needham Police Log

October 16

A resident on Pilgrim Road reported that someone had stolen an item from his property. Needham Police are investigating.

3:20 p.m. - Animal Control Officer Parsons transmitted over the radio he had witnessed a 15-year old man get struck by a car at the intersection of Great Plain Avenue and Glendoon Road. While units were responding he stated the pedestrian who was struck was now in the rear parking lot behind Comella's. Needham Fire was also dispatched at this time and transported the victim to Beth Israel Needham with minor injuries. The crash is under investigation.

An assistant principal at Needham High School informed police that a student's locker was damaged. It turned out the damage was done in mid September. The vandalism was bias in nature.

October 18

10:50 a.m. - An Officer responded to a Highland Avenue business for a report of shoplifting. The manager did not wish to press charges and the suspect was asked to leave and not return. The suspect, 64-year-old Needham resident, was escorted off the property without incident.

2:20 p.m. - An officer pulled a vehicle over on Highland Avenue for making an illegal U-turn. After a brief investigation the operator, a 32-year-old New Hampshire resident, was issued a summons operating with a suspended license and making an illegal U-turn.
