Slashed Tires, Assault, And More: Needham Police Log

September 8

7:35 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Yurick Road residence for a report of suspicious telephone activity. The matter remains under investigation.

4:20 p.m. - An officer responded to a Lexington Avenue address for a report of property damage. The rear driver side window of the reporting party's vehicle was shattered. It is unknown how the damage occurred.

5:39 p.m. - An officer responded to Country Way for a report of a cyclist who had been assaulted by the driver of a vehicle. On arrival, the reporting party stated that while riding his bike with his children, a speeding car approached. When he motioned for the driver to slow down, the driver got out and assaulted him. The driver was located and Officers spoke to him. The reporting party did not wish to pursue criminal charges at this time.

A Central Ave resident came to report that she has had three tires flatten over the past three days.

7:50 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle on Highland Avenue near the Newton Line. The registered owner, a 29-year-old Somerville woman, was cited and issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with revoked registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

September 10

11:41 a.m. - An officer responded to a Marked Tree Road residence for a report of a larceny of a plant from the owner's front yard. A portion of a Hosta plant was stolen.
