UPDATE: Man Wanted for False Checks Leads Police on Foot Chase

The suspect also had a default warrant out for his arrest.

A 31-year-old Roxbury man led police on a foot chase Wednesday afternoon after fleeing from TD Bank on Highland Ave.

According to the Needham Police Department, officers went to the bank around 3:20 p.m. on the report of a man attempting to cash fraudulent checks. Police noted a man at the bank who matched the description before the man, Christopher Shivers, fled on foot to the rear of the building.

A "brief" foot pursuit ensued, according a press release issued by Needham PD, and police were able to catch up to Shivers and take him into custody "without incident." Along the way, however, Shivers reportedly dropped several "rocks" of crack cocaine during the foot pursuit.
