Sweet Basil in Needham Makes Boston Mag's Top Restaurant List

They’re calling it an “oddball Metrowest gem.”

Sweet Basil in Needham ranked at no. 46 in Boston Magazine’s annual ”50 Best Restaurants” list. This November issue highlights the topic of food, and includes this extensively researched list of restaurants in and around Boston.

Boston Magazine also said of Sweet Basil: ”It’s a world unto itself, one in which quasi-Italian comfort dishes (gooey baked Gouda atop greens; pumpkin-ricotta gnocchi with pork belly; and slow-cooked lamb shank with polenta) are served in heaping portions.”

The “can’t-miss” dish, according to Boston Magazine, is the braised chicken with vinegar peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and strozzapreti.
