Temporary Permits Approved for Food Trucks in Needham

Needham town selectman voted to unanimously approve new rules that will allow food truck vendors to apply for temporary, one-week permits to operate in the business park rather than having to settle for season-long permits, WickedLocal.com reports.

The newly approved week-long permits will sell for $25. The season-long permits cost vendors $1,000. Those in possession of one-week permits will be held under the same rules as seasonal permit-holders. The food trucks will be subject to health and safety inspections.

There will be no limit placed on the amount of short-term permits in which a vendor can obtain.

Permit-holders will only be allowed to operate in public right-of-way areas in the business park.
