Top Comics to Perform at Village Club Tonight

Tickets are $20 and available at the door.

If all Dad asked for this Father's Day was to have his funny bone tickled, you likely can't go wrong bringing him to tonight's 16th Annual Comedy Night.

Held at the Village Club on Morton St., the evening will feature "three of Boston's top comedians," according to event organizer Charles Wright. On the docket are Artie Januario, Ira Proctor and Joe List.

Januario, a comedian from Revere, doubles as a pharmacist and counts people like Lenny Bruce and Proctor as personal heroes. He has played Giggles countless times, as well as Mottley's Comedy Club, and has taken part in theatre projects such as "Sheer Madness."

Boston based comedian Proctor has performed everywhere from Las Vegas to Afghanistan. He is the winner of Sierra Mist's "Next Great Comic Search" and has appeared on Comedy Central, NESN and XM Radio.

28-year-old Joe List is a Queens, NY native who began his career in 2000 by doing stand-up in Boston.

"I did a lot of shows and drank a lot of beers," List wrote of his experience during that time.

List soon after began opening around the country for Nick DiPaolo before garnering a spot at the HBO Comedy Festival. He has also performed his act on Comedy Central and counts Gary Gulman and Louis C.K. as influences.

Tonight's 21 plus show begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at the door for $20. The event will also feature dancing and a cash bar. Proceeds from the event benefit the Village Club's Annual Scholarship Fund.
